Position: Before and After School Program Lead (Director)

Location: Sarnia, ON (various School Age programs within Sarnia)

Schedule: 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday, within the hours of 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Start Date: Immediately – January 5, 2026 (Temporary Full-Time)

 

Position Summary

We are currently seeking a Before and After School Program Lead to join our Sarnia team. You will have the opportunity to work with others who are naturally curious, kind, and passionate towards the success of London Bridge. There are four (4) before and after school programs that provide care and education for children ages 4-12 years old. The Before and After School Program Lead position has the responsibility for all program, operations and administrative practices associated with establishing and meeting expectations of care and education for children and families part of the Extended Day Program.

Responsibilities

o Ensure the ongoing safety and well-being of all children, staff and visitors
o Model and nurture reflective practice, as well as critical thinking skills for others
o Encourage staff and children to engage in building of community and fostering creative learning
o Anticipate and plan for full day programs (during PD Days, Winter break, and Summer months) with staff
o Maintain all records as required by the Ministry of Education
o Organize and conduct regular staff/team meetings
o Respond to all families questions, comments, and concerns in a timely and professional manner
o Create and adjust staff schedules and approving staff time cards through online payroll system, ADP
o Continue to build and facilitate community relationships with the school board, community supports, and school-aged networking
o Manage program budgeting
o Working and thinking together with other London Bridge Pedagogical Leaders to Support Pedagogy within all of the programs

  • Some travel to London is required.

Qualifications

o Completion of post-secondary education related to the education of children and youth
o Candidates that have completed the Early Childhood Education program must be registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
o Experience working in a School-Aged program an asset
o Strong knowledge and understanding of child development and Emergent Curriculum
o Experience will centre and classroom licensing requirements in support of the Child Care and Early Years Act 2014 o Knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act
o Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
o Strong critical thinking skills
o Excellent communication skills
o Valid Standard First Aid and CPR level C certification (WSIB recognized)
o NVCPI and/or behavioural management certification an asset
