London Bridge Child Care Services Inc is a licensed nonprofit childcare organization dedicated to nurturing curious minds and kind hearts by providing unique, safe, and creative environments for children to thrive. Our Before and After School Programs partner with and operate out of the school that they support children from and are an extension to the children’s day of learning. Our mission is to promote high-quality education, rooted in a culture that values our youngest citizens. We are actively recruiting Before and After School Educators to join our teams across Huron County (Zurich, Exeter, Hensall), London-Middlesex (Dorchester), and Lambton County (Sarnia).
o Part Time Split Shift: 7:00/7:30 am – 9:00/9:30 am and 2:30-5:30 pm (up to 25 hours)
o Full Time Split Shift: 7:00/7:30 am – 9:00/9:30 am and 2:30-5:30 pm with a midday shift at one of our child care centres (40 hours)
Shift timings will vary dependent on centre locations.

Position Summary
As a School Age Educator, you will support children between the ages of 4-12. You will build a curriculum alongside our youngest active contributing community members. Within this role, you will cultivate relationships with school personnel to enhance the quality of learning experiences for children, remain curious alongside and guide children through daily learning experiences, and consistently strive to deepen your understanding of the culture you cultivate within a classroom.
Responsibilities
o Experience working with children, including those with diverse needs, is considered an asset
o Implement a Before and After School program for children ages 4 to 12 that fosters their curiosities and supports them in exploring topics that align with organizational values and principles
o Maintain active supervision and prioritize the physical and emotional safety of children at all times
o Seek to understand children’s diverse needs and abilities and provide an inclusive program within a community-based practice
o Comprehend and adhere to the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), health and safety guidelines, and London Bridge policies and procedures
o Participate in team meetings, professional learning and staff training opportunities, and build and maintain relationships with community partners
Qualifications
o Strong critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills
o Curious, reflective, and eager for ongoing professional growth
o Demonstrates a high degree of flexibility and adaptability in responding to the evolving needs, interests, and dynamics of the children, the program, and the environment
o Post-secondary degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education, Recreation and Leisure, Child and Youth Care, Bachelor of Education OR;
o Post-secondary degree or diploma in related field (including but not limited to Social Service Worker (SSW), Developmental Service Worker (DSW), BA in Psychology, Child and Youth Studies, Sociology)
o If applicable, member in good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators or a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)
o Vulnerable Sectors Check within the last 6 months
o Standard First Aid and CPR Level C (WSIB approved)
o Immunizations Records (Tetanus Toxoid and Rubella)
