Advancing Equity, Celebrating Diversity, and Fostering a Culture of Inclusion So That All Curious Minds and Kind Hearts Can Flourish At London Bridge.
As an Educational Institution, we recognize that we are not separate from the harmful history and ongoing injustices that exist in this country.
We know that through early years education, we are teaching young people about what it means to be human and we have a responsibility to create spaces that celebrate and encourage diverse life experiences and ideas.
As an organization rooted in colonialism, we must constantly question ourselves and our assumptions, and encourage children to do the same.
We know that when we work together to advance equity, celebrate diversity, and foster a culture of inclusion we can create vibrant spaces for curious minds and kind hearts to flourish…(read more…)
Who Are We?
-
a network of 18 licensed child care and before and after school programs uniquely placed throughout the city of London, and Huron and Lambton Counties.
We employ over 400 adults who collaborate with approximately 1200 families each year to thoughtfully design and implement safe, play-based Early Years Education that responds thoughtfully to the times we are living in.
Our Vision
-
to contribute to a future where all children, and those who care for them, belong to learning communities that intentionally offer time and space to build relationships, contribute their voice, and realize their potential.
Our Mission
-
nurturing curious minds and kind hearts by providing and promoting childcare and education.
Our innovative culture values our youngest citizens, engages employees, partners with families, and strengthens the community.
At London Bridge, we welcome feedback, including feedback on our program and services for individuals with disabilities: View our accessibility plan.
Children are always learning…
There is no specific time that children’s brains turn their capacity to learn on or off. They are constantly making connections based on what they are experiencing in the world around them. This is how they form their understanding of themselves and their relationship to the world they live in.
We create physically and emotionally safe spaces…
In London Bridge Child Care Centres and School Age Programs, children can nurture their curiosity, take risks, and approach new problems in creative ways. They are encouraged to deepen their understanding of who they are, and how their body works in relationship to the world and times they are living in.
Growing children deserve growing adults.
London Bridge employs over 400 adults. We work together within a distributed leadership model where we hold one another accountable to our shared vision for the future of Early Childhood Education. Our innovative culture supports all of our classroom educators, pedagogical leaders, and administrators to engage in ongoing professional learning. We know that adults who are given time to think critically with colleagues, and nurture their own emotional and intellectual well-being are more likely to creatively engage with children and be more thoughtful in their curriculum making.
